Publish straight to your WordPress.com blog using the same Zivooo connector plugin, with the WordPress.com specifics handled.

WordPress.com sites connect through the free Zivooo connector plugin, exactly like self-hosted WordPress. The plugin renders your article's JSON-LD schema in the page <head>, where search engines and AI answer engines expect it.

Important

WordPress.com only allows plugins on the Business and Commerce plans (shown as Creator and Entrepreneur on some pricing pages). Free, Personal, and Premium sites can't install plugins at all, so automatic publishing isn't possible on those plans.

What you need

  • A WordPress.com site on the Business or Commerce plan
  • Admin access to that site
  • Your site address: either yourname.wordpress.com or the custom domain you've made primary

Check your plan allows plugins

  1. 1Open your site from wordpress.com, then go to WP Admin.
  2. 2Look for Plugins in the left sidebar.
  3. 3If Plugins is missing or sends you to an upgrade page, your plan can't run the connector yet.

How to connect

  1. 1In Zivooo, go to Settings → Integrations and click Connect on WordPress.com (the card next to WordPress).
  2. 2Enter your site address (use the primary domain, including https://) and click Generate key. Copy the secret, it's shown only once.
  3. 3Download the Zivooo plugin (.zip), then in WP Admin go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
  4. 4Install and activate the plugin.
  5. 5Open Settings → Zivooo, paste the key, and save.
  6. 6Back in Zivooo, click Test to confirm the connection.
Important

Installing your first plugin moves a WordPress.com site onto WordPress.com's managed hosting. That takes a few minutes and your site may be briefly unavailable, so let the transfer finish before you paste the key.

Which address to use

Enter the site address the way WordPress.com serves it. If you've pointed a custom domain at the site and made it primary, use that domain, not the .wordpress.com one, otherwise published links and the connection test can end up on a redirect. Changed your primary domain since connecting? Update the address in Settings → Integrations and run Test again.

How publishing works

When an article is published (or refreshed), Zivooo signs the request with your secret (HMAC) and the plugin creates or updates the post, stores the JSON-LD, and renders it in <head>. Posts created by Zivooo are marked as managed so they can be read back and reconciled.

Important

The connector detects Yoast SEO and Rank Math and skips page-level schema types they already emit (Article, BreadcrumbList) to avoid duplicates.

Categories

Zivooo reads your categories nightly (connector 1.3.0 or later). Set a Default category in Settings → Integrations → WordPress.com, and every article goes there unless your editor picks a different one while approving it. They can also create a new category for you at that point.

Important

Refreshes never change a published post's category, so if you re-file an article in WordPress it stays where you put it.

If your plan doesn't allow plugins

Zivooo publishes to WordPress through the connector plugin only, so there's no plugin-free route on Free, Personal, or Premium. You can either upgrade to Business or Commerce, or keep the articles coming and paste each approved draft into the WordPress.com editor yourself.

Is this a different integration from WordPress?

It has its own card in Settings → Integrations so the setup steps match what you'll see on WordPress.com, but underneath it's the same connector plugin as self-hosted WordPress. Connect one or the other, not both.

Test says it can't reach my site.

Check the plugin is activated, the key in Settings → Zivooo matches the one Zivooo generated, and the address you entered is your primary domain with https:// and no trailing path.

Do I need the Business plan just to try Zivooo?

Only for automatic publishing. Articles are still generated, scored, and reviewed in Zivooo without any site connected.
