Set up your Anthropic, DataForSEO and FAL.ai keys
Zivooo's SEO and GEO engine runs on your own Anthropic, DataForSEO and FAL.ai accounts. This guide explains why, what each one does, and walks you through signing up, getting each key and saving it in Zivooo. It's a one-time setup that takes about 10 minutes.
What is a key?
A key (also called an API key) is a long code that lets Zivooo use one of your accounts with a provider, the way a password lets you sign in. You create it in the provider's dashboard, copy it, and paste it into Zivooo once. From then on, Zivooo uses it to do your work, and the provider bills your account for what that work used.
Why Zivooo runs on your own accounts
- You pay only for what you use. Each provider charges your account its own price for each piece of work, with nothing added by Zivooo.
- You stay in control of the cost. Every button in Zivooo shows what it will cost before it starts, and you set a maximum monthly spend for each key.
- It's affordable. A scheduled article typically costs up to about $0.40 on your keys. A typical month for one website (8 articles, 10 tracked AI prompts, 25 tracked keywords and one Site Health audit) comes to about $9.98.
- One setup covers everything. The same three keys work for every website in your account.
Zivooo itself charges only for your websites: see Billing.
What each key does
| Provider | What it does for you | How you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | Writes your articles, rewrites, page audits, reports and research summaries. | Credit you add in advance on your Claude Console account. |
| DataForSEO | Brings the search data: keyword and prompt research, rankings, AI visibility, site audits and reading web pages. | Funds you add in advance (the first payment is at least $50). |
| FAL.ai | Makes the images for your articles. | Credits you add in advance on your FAL.ai account. |
You need all three before Zivooo can start, including your brand knowledge.
Before you start
- About 10 minutes.
- A payment card. Each provider is paid in advance, so you add some credit to each account before its key works.
- Your email, to sign up with each provider.
For each provider you do the same four things: sign up, add credit, create a key, and paste it into Zivooo. The sections below show exactly where to click.
Anthropic
Anthropic's Claude Console is where you create the key and pay for what it uses. A Claude Pro or Max chat subscription is separate and doesn't include any of this credit.
- 1Go to platform.claude.com and sign up with your email or Google account. Confirm your email if asked, and follow the prompts to name your organization (your company name is fine).
- 2Open Billing, add a payment card and buy some credit. Anthropic is paid in advance: until the account has credit, the key is refused. You can turn on automatic reload there so the balance never runs out.
- 3Open API keys and click Create key.
- 4Name it Zivooo so you know what it's for later.
- 5Choose a workspace for the key. Default Workspace is fine. Don't leave the key without one: Zivooo needs a key that belongs to a workspace.
- 6Set Expiration to Never. A key that expires stops working on its date and pauses your work.
- 7Leave Linked account set to yourself, then click to create the key.
- 8Copy the key straight away: it starts with
sk-ant-and the Console shows it only once. If you lose it, create a new one. - 9In Zivooo, click Add Anthropic key, paste it, set your monthly limit and click Save key.
If Zivooo says the key isn't tied to a workspace, or the key stops working after a few weeks, create a new key with a workspace selected and Expiration set to Never, then save it in place of the old one.
Scheduled articles are written a day ahead using Anthropic's batch pricing, which is half the usual price on your bill.
DataForSEO
DataForSEO doesn't use a single key. It gives you an API login and an API password, and the API password is different from the password you sign in with.
- 1Go to app.dataforseo.com/register and create an account. Confirm your email when DataForSEO asks.
- 2Write down the API password shown after you sign up, or open API Access within a day: DataForSEO shows the API password only for the first 24 hours.
- 3Add funds: open Payments and click Add Funds. The first payment is at least $50. A new account starts with a small trial balance, which runs out quickly, so don't rely on it.
- 4Open API Access. Your API login is the email address shown there. If the API password is hidden, click Send by e-mail and DataForSEO emails it to you.
- 5In Zivooo, click Add DataForSEO key and enter the API login and API password (not your sign-in password). Set your monthly limit and click Save key. The check is free.
We check your DataForSEO balance every night and email you once if it drops under $5, so you can top it up before anything pauses.
FAL.ai
FAL.ai makes the images for your articles: a featured image and one inside each article, in the style you choose under Brand Knowledge.
- 1Go to fal.ai and sign up.
- 2Open Billing and add credits with a payment card. You can turn on automatic top ups there so images never stop.
- 3Open Keys and click Create Key. Name it Zivooo.
- 4When it asks for a scope, choose API.
- 5Copy the whole key straight away: it has two parts joined by a colon, and FAL.ai shows it only once.
- 6In Zivooo, click Add FAL.ai key, paste it, set your monthly limit and click Save key. The check makes no image.
All three keys are required. If your FAL.ai key is removed later or runs out of credit, articles pause until you fix it, so none goes out without its images.
Saving a key in Zivooo
A new account's dashboard opens with Connect your keys: one step for each provider, with a link back to this guide. You can also add or change a key any time under Settings → Account. Either way, the form is the same:
- 1Click Add Anthropic key (or DataForSEO, or FAL.ai).
- 2Paste the key, or for DataForSEO enter the API login and API password.
- 3Set the Maximum monthly spend for that key, from $1 to $500 ($20 to start). You can change it later.
- 4Click Save key. Zivooo checks the key with the provider before saving it, which takes a few seconds. When it works, the step shows Done and the last characters of the key.
Once all three are saved, the dashboard moves on to Get started, beginning with your brand knowledge.
If a key isn't accepted
- Copied only part of it. Paste the whole key again. Anthropic keys start with
sk-ant-; FAL.ai keys have a colon in the middle. - No credit yet. Add credit or funds to that provider's account, then save the key again.
- DataForSEO says the login is wrong. Use the API password from API Access, not the password you sign in with.
- DataForSEO asks you to verify the account. Finish verification in your DataForSEO dashboard, then save again.
- Anthropic says the key isn't tied to a workspace. Create a new key with a workspace selected.
- We couldn't reach the provider. Their service may be busy. Wait a minute and save again: nothing was changed.
Monthly limits
Each key has a maximum monthly spend you choose, from $1 to $500 in whole dollars ($20 until you change it). Each card on Settings → Account shows what the key has spent this month. When a key reaches its limit, work that needs it pauses until the next month or until you raise the limit.
When a key stops working
If a provider refuses a key (it was deleted or expired, or the account ran out of credit), we email you once, mark the key Not working on the Account page and pause the work that needs it. Replace the key or top up the account, save the key again, and paused work picks up again by itself.
Is my key safe with Zivooo?
Yes. Keys are stored encrypted and never shown again after you save them: Settings shows only the last characters. You can delete a key in the provider's dashboard at any time, and it stops working everywhere.
Who can add or change the keys?
Only the account owner. Team members can see whether each key is working.
Do I pay Zivooo for what runs on my keys?
No. Each provider bills you directly for what your work uses. Zivooo charges only for your websites: see Billing.
Does my Claude subscription cover the Anthropic key?
No. Claude Pro and Max are for chatting with Claude. The key is paid from the credit on your Claude Console account.
Can I use the same keys for several websites?
Yes. One set of keys covers every website in your account, and Billing shows what each website spent on them.
