MCP server
Ask Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI assistants about your AI visibility, rankings, AI traffic and articles, answered from your Zivooo data.
Zivooo runs an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so an AI assistant can read your Zivooo data and answer questions about it. Ask for a weekly visibility brief, which competitors gained ground, or which sites AI answers cite instead of you, and the assistant pulls the numbers straight from your account.
Access is read only. An assistant can read your data but can't change anything, publish, start an audit or research, or spend credits. Using the MCP server costs no credits.
Server URL
https://zivooo.com/api/mcpYou'll also find it in Zivooo under Setup → Setup MCP. There are two ways to connect: sign in through the assistant (Claude and ChatGPT), or use an MCP key (Claude Code, Cursor and other tools).
Connect Claude
Works on every Claude plan, including Free (which allows one custom connector), in claude.ai and Claude Desktop. The connector lives on your Claude account, so you add it once.
- 1In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors and click Add custom connector (on some accounts, click + Add first).
- 2Name it Zivooo and enter the server URL:
https://zivooo.com/api/mcp. - 3If Claude asks how to sign in, choose Sign in now, and for the OAuth client keep Use Claude's published identity. Then click Add.
- 4Claude opens a Zivooo sign-in. Sign in, check what Claude will be able to read, and choose Allow.
- 5In a chat, click +, open Connectors and turn Zivooo on. Then ask a question.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, members can't add custom connectors themselves. An Owner adds it once under Organization settings > Connectors (Add, then Custom, then Web) with the same URL. Each member then goes to Customize > Connectors, finds Zivooo and clicks Connect to sign in with their own Zivooo account.
Connect ChatGPT
Custom MCP servers need a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu); the Free plan can't add them. Set it up on chatgpt.com.
- 1Plus or Pro: first turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT's Settings, under Security. Business, Enterprise or Edu: your workspace admin must allow creating custom MCP servers; on Business, only admins and owners can add one.
- 2Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, click + (or Add) and choose Create MCP App (shown as Add custom MCP server on some accounts).
- 3Name it Zivooo, choose Public endpoint and enter
https://zivooo.com/api/mcp. Choose OAuth for authentication. - 4Review the warning, select I understand and want to continue, and create it.
- 5ChatGPT opens a Zivooo sign-in. Sign in and choose Allow.
- 6In a chat, type @ in the prompt box and pick Zivooo, then ask a question.
ChatGPT limits Plus and Pro to tools that only read data. Every Zivooo tool reads only, so all of them work on those plans.
Connect Claude Code, Cursor and other tools
Tools that run on your computer use an MCP key instead of a sign-in.
- 1In Zivooo, go to Setup → Setup MCP and click New key.
- 2Name it for where you'll use it (for example, "Cursor on my laptop") and copy it. You can show and copy it again any time from the same page.
- 3Add it to your tool as below.
Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http zivooo https://zivooo.com/api/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer zmcp_your_key"Cursor (.cursor/mcp.json), and other tools that take a URL and headers:
{
"mcpServers": {
"zivooo": {
"url": "https://zivooo.com/api/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer zmcp_your_key" }
}
}
}A key reads every site on your account. You can have up to 10, and revoking one doesn't affect the others. This is a different key from the publishing API key.
What you can ask
- Weekly brief: "Using Zivooo, give me this week's AI visibility brief: mention rate by engine against last week, what changed, and the three things to do next."
- Competitor watch: "Which competitors gained share of voice in AI answers over the last 8 weeks, and on which prompts?"
- Citation gap: "Which sites do AI answers cite for my prompts while leaving me out? Group them by kind and suggest where to get mentioned."
- Content check: "List my articles published this month with their scores, and tell me which ones AI crawlers read but no answer cites."
If your account has more than one site, name the site ("for example.com") or the assistant will ask Zivooo which sites you have first.
What the assistant can read
AI visibility covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, for the prompts and keywords you track in Zivooo.
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
list_sites | Your sites: domain and company name. |
visibility_summary | How often AI answers mention you over a period, per engine, with its 95% range and whether the last four weeks clearly differ from the four before, plus sentiment and the competitors named most. |
list_prompts | Your tracked prompts with the latest result per engine: mentioned or not, position, sentiment. |
prompt_answers | Recent AI answers to one prompt: an excerpt, the brands named and the links cited. |
share_of_voice | Week by week, your share of answers against your top three competitors, and your share of cited links. |
top_sources | The sites and pages AI answers cite most, by kind (yours, competitor, forum, review site and more), and how many leave you out. |
changes | Prompts you dropped from, prompts a competitor overtook you on, and prompts you're never named in. |
keyword_rankings | Your tracked keywords: Google position now and a week ago, and the ranking URL. |
ai_traffic | Visits from AI crawlers and from people arriving through AI assistants, per crawler, assistant and page. |
list_articles | Your articles, newest first: keyword, title, type, status, score and URL. |
get_article | One article's title, meta description, score breakdown and URL, with the HTML if asked. |
opportunities | Your opportunity inbox, ranked, with the numbers behind each card. |
get_brand_truth | What AI gets wrong or leaves out about you: each open Brand Truth finding with its engines, the truth, the fix, where it came from and whether it is confirmed, plus the latest check's headline. |
credit_balance | Your credit balance. Credits never expire. |
The assistant sees the same numbers as your dashboard. Visibility is scanned weekly and rankings on their own schedule, so answers reflect the latest scan, not this minute.
Disconnect
- Claude or ChatGPT: in Zivooo, go to Setup → Setup MCP and choose Disconnect next to the app under Connected apps. Access ends at once.
- A key: revoke it in the same place. Any tool using it stops working immediately.
Limits
Up to 60 requests a minute per key or connected app. Above that the server answers 429 with a Retry-After header, and the assistant can try again shortly.
For developers
- Transport: Streamable HTTP, stateless, no sessions. Protocol
2026-07-28answers in JSON; older clients (2025-11-25back to2024-10-07) get each reply as a single server-sent event, so sendAccept: application/json, text/event-stream. - Keys: send
Authorization: Bearer zmcp_.... - OAuth 2.1: discovery at
/.well-known/oauth-protected-resourceand/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. Public clients with PKCE (S256), identified by a Client ID Metadata Document or by dynamic client registration. Tokens are bound tohttps://zivooo.com/api/mcpas their resource; scoperead. - Without credentials the server answers
401with aWWW-Authenticateheader pointing at the resource metadata. - Results: each tool returns a one-line summary plus the data as JSON in
content, and the same data instructuredContent. A tool that can't answer (an unknown site, a bad id) returnsisError: truewith a plain sentence saying why. - Browsers: the endpoint allows cross-origin requests, so web clients such as the MCP Inspector can connect.
Troubleshooting
The assistant says it isn't authorized (401).
For Claude or ChatGPT, remove the connector and add it again to sign in afresh. For a key, check it starts with zmcp_, is sent as Authorization: Bearer, and hasn't been revoked in Setup → Setup MCP.
I don't see Create MCP App in ChatGPT.
On Plus or Pro, turn on Developer mode under Settings, Security and look again in chatgpt.com/plugins. On a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, ask your admin to allow creating custom MCP servers. The Free plan doesn't support custom MCP servers.
I can't add a custom connector in Claude.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, only an Owner can add one, under Organization settings > Connectors; you then connect from Customize > Connectors. On the Free plan you can have one custom connector, so remove another first if you already have one.
The assistant says a site doesn't exist.
Ask it to list your sites first, then use the domain exactly as listed. Archived sites aren't available.
Can the assistant run an audit, research prompts or write an article?
No. The MCP server is read only and never spends credits. Start those from your Zivooo dashboard, then ask the assistant about the results.
Getting 429 Too Many Requests?
You've passed 60 requests in a minute on one key or app. Wait for the time in Retry-After and try again.
